Various sparid species are caught using the bolentino technique - bottom fishing from the boat. Sparids or scaly fishes include salps, arbuns, abalones, toothfishes, spars, sea breams and sheepsheads.
Bolentino fishing technique is classic fishing at greater depths. It is a very popular way of fishing among recreational sea anglers.
You can also try panula fishing - a trolling fishing line technique from the boat in motion. Basically, it is pulling the bait from a moving boat.
For successful fishing, you must know the location well, feel the sea, consider the tides and ebbs, moonlight and wind, and know the direction of the sea current very well.
The fishing position is chosen depending on the weather conditions and the time of year, and it is usually along the coast of Krk or in the channels between Krk and the surrounding islets. You will fish from an anchored boat along the coast or on one of the nearby underwater reefs.
Just like the fishing position, the fishing technique is adapted to the current conditions at sea.
All the necessary fishing equipment awaits you on the boat: rods, hooks and baits. Due to the purchase of bait, it is important to reserve fishing at least one day in advance.
