How to book accommodation?
On our website, you can search for available accommodation and filter the results by various criteria and easily book online. Booking calendars are updated daily. When sending a reservation, MARE TOURS once again checks whether the accommodation unit is free. Then we send you a reservation confirmation by email. If you are not sure which accommodation would suit you best, tell us your criteria and priorities in the selection. We will be happy to give you a few suggestions for accommodation according to your wishes.
How and when is the advance to be paid for the booked accommodation?
For the reservation to be complete, the guest must pay an advance within the period specified in the booking confirmation. The advance payment is 30% of the total amount. For reservations shorter than five nights, the advance payment is 50% of the total amount. For some accommodation, it is necessary to pay the full amount one month before arrival, which is indicated in the description of the accommodation. If the booked period starts within 15 days from the request, the guest is obliged to pay an advance within 12 hours of accepting the offer and immediately notify MARE TOURS by email. You can pay the advance payment for the booked accommodation by credit card and bank transfer.
How and when is the remaining amount paid for the booked accommodation?
The remaining amount is to be paid during your stay in Vrbnik in kuna. In rare cases, for some accommodation, it is necessary to pay the full amount in advance before arrival, in which case this is indicated in the accommodation description.
What are the cancellation conditions?
For fixed confirmed reservations for accommodation units, the date on which the written cancellation is received represents the basis of the calculation of costs as follows:
- for cancellation up to 15 days before the start of using the service, 30% of the accommodation price will be charged
- for cancellation from 14 to 8 days before the start of using the service, 50% of the accommodation price will be charged
- for cancellation from 7 to 2 days before the start of using the service, 70% of the accommodation price will be charged
- for a canceled reservation 1 day before the beginning of the service, during the reserved period or a no-show - 95% of the total amount of the reservation will be charged
What if you are coming with a pet?
Some accommodations accept pets, and this is stated in the description. You can also filter the accommodation in the search engine by this key. It is necessary to announce in advance that you are coming with a pet and to mention which pet it is. Please be sure to let us know if your pet is bigger than average or belongs to a breed that is considered more dangerous. There is an additional daily fee for pets of 7-10 Eur. The exact daily fee for pets is precisely stated at each accommodation description that receives pets. If you are coming with more than one pet, please contact us to check if more than one pet can come to the selected accommodation that receives pets. Keep in mind that dogs are not allowed on a large number of beaches, and there are special beaches for pets in every major town on the island of Krk. Please do not leave the dog alone in the apartment.
Is it possible to come outside the opening hours / later in the evening?
Arrival outside of opening hours is possible by prior arrangement. In case you come outside of opening hours, you should check-in (register your data) the next day, within 24 hours of arrival.
Our working hours in the main season (1.6. - 15.9.) Are from 08:00 - 20:00 from Monday to Saturday, and on Sundays, we are open from 9:00 to 16:00. Outside the main season (until 1.6. and from 15.9.) Our working hours are from 8:00 - 15:00 from Monday to Friday and on Saturdays from 9:00 - 14:00.
Does the accommodation have air conditioning?
If the accommodation has air conditioning, it is stated in its description. It is also a feature by which you can filter the accommodation search. It is mostly one air conditioner in the living room. If the accommodation has several air conditioners, this is also stated in the description. Most air conditioning is included in the price, and in some accommodation, air conditioning is optional for a fee. In that case, you can decide on the spot whether you will use the air conditioning or not. If you use it, you pay the air conditioning fee directly to the owner of the apartment.
When are pools available when staying in the accommodation with a pool?
Accommodation with a pool mostly has an available pool in the period from 15.5. - 15.10. The period in which the pool is available also depends on the weather conditions. For reservations outside this period, please check the pool availability.

When is it possible to make a check-in?
For most accommodations, check-in is scheduled from 2 pm. For a small number of accommodations, check-in is possible from 4 pm. The exact check-in time at the booked property is indicated on the booking confirmation/voucher. You can contact us immediately upon arrival to register if you arrive early. Your accommodation may be ready earlier if it was briefly available before your arrival or if the guests who had previously stayed there had left earlier.
Where is the check-in done?
Check-in for accommodation in Vrbnik and surrounding places can be made with us at the office, in Vrbnik, Trg sv. Ivana 8 (in the central parking lot). If you have booked your accommodation in a place further away from our office, check-in can be provided with our partner travel agencies across the island. For some accommodation, check-in can be done directly at the accommodation with the prior submission of the information required for registration by e-mail.
Why do I need to do the registration and let my personal data be processed at check-in?
Upon arrival in Croatia, you have a legal obligation to report your stay within 24 hours. To comply with this legal obligation, it is necessary to make available the identity documents (passports, identity cards or driving licenses) of all persons staying in the accommodation.
When is the check-out scheduled?
Check-out is scheduled until 10:00. If you are traveling earlier, you can arrange the keys' handover directly with the hosts or leave the key with us at the intended place.
Where can you change your money?
You can change money at banks and authorized exchange offices, among others, with us at the agency. At ATMs, you can withdraw money in euros.
Can you pay in foreign currency or with a credit card on vacation?
You can pay with a card at many outlets. Where cash is received, payment is possible in euros.
Does your reserved accommodation have a barbecue?
The description of your reserved accommodation indicates whether the accommodation has a barbecue. In the case of a facility with more than one accommodation unit, one grill might be available for more accommodation units. If your reserved accommodation does not have a barbecue available and you want to bring your portable barbecue, be sure to check this option beforehand, as in some facilities barbecue is not desirable for fear of fire.
Is the waste on the island of Krk recycled and what is the Waste Collection Timetable?
On the island of Krk, waste is recycled - green mixed waste containers, brown for biodegradable, blue for papers and multi-ply cardboard packaging, yellow for plastic and metal and black for glass. Waste is collected door to door according to the established Waste Collection Timetable. If your accommodation is in the old town center or apartment building, the waste is collected in shared containers in front of the building or at certain points along the edge of the old town.
How does parking charge work?
Most parking on the island of Krk is to be paid for in the summer months and it can mostly only be paid with cash - some parking automats only take coins and some take both banknotes and coins. Parking automats generally do not return the money. Almost all of the accommodations have their own private parking, while those in the old city centers where it is not possible to park next to the accommodation generally have parking in public or private parking lots. In this case the distance from the accommodation to the parking is specified in the accommodation description.
How to rent a bike, motorbike or a boat?
It is possible to rent a bicycle, motorboat, or boat during your stay, and you can do it in the short term - when you arrive on the island of Krk. You can read about rental options and prices on our website and get information from us at the front desk. On Krk, there is also a public network for charging and renting electric bicycles. For the rental of motorized vehicles, it is necessary to have the appropriate driving license category. It is required to have a boat master's license to operate the boat.
What to look out for when arriving by plane?
If you are arriving by plane, you must arrange a transfer or car rental at the airport in advance. If you wish, we can gladly assist you. On Krk, having a vehicle at your disposal is more optimal. However, it is also possible to organize a vacation without a car, especially in larger centers on the Island of Krk that are somewhat better connected by buses.
Where are the gas stations on Krk?
The southernmost gas station on Krk is located in Baška. Also, the gas stations are located in the town of Krk, Malinska, Omišalj, at the Valbiska ferry port and just behind the Krk Bridge. On the island of Krk, there are 11 electric car charging stations distributed throughout the island.
Where are the stores located?
Smaller shops are located in almost every town, and larger shopping centers are mainly in Krk and Malinska. Opening hours vary by time of year, but most shops work all day.
Where are pharmacies and medical offices located?
Every major island town has a pharmacy and dispensary. In the town of Krk there is a tourist ambulance at your service. There is also an emergency service (tel. 112) and the nearest hospital centers are in nearby Rijeka.
