Everything you may need during your stay on Krk – in one place.
Arrival and stay
Check-in and check-out
Check-in is possible from 14:00, and in some accommodations from 16:00 – the exact time is stated on your voucher. If you arrive earlier or later than agreed, please contact us so we can check what is possible. Check-out is by 10:00. If you are leaving early, you can leave the key with us or arrange this with your host.
At check-in, we need to see the personal documents of all guests staying in the accommodation (ID card or passport). This is a legal requirement for guest registration within 24 hours of arrival.

Parking
In Vrbnik, parking is available at the main public parking area next to our office. Parking is charged and checked regularly, so please remember to pay for your ticket. Almost all accommodations include parking for one vehicle; in old town areas, the parking area is usually nearby, and the distance is stated in the accommodation description. If you are arriving with more than one vehicle, please contact us in advance so we can check the options. Parking meters mostly accept cash and do not give change. Exact parking information is also provided in each accommodation description.
During your stay
Money and payment
The official currency is the euro. Card payments are accepted at most shops, restaurants and service points, and you can withdraw cash from ATMs in all larger places on the island.
WiFi
You will find the WiFi details in your accommodation.
Shops
Small grocery shops can be found in almost every place, while larger supermarkets and shopping centres are located in Krk Town and Malinska. Opening hours depend on the time of year; in summer, shops are usually open throughout the day, while opening hours on Sundays and public holidays may differ.
Pharmacies, medical clinic and emergency help
Every larger place on the island has a pharmacy and a medical clinic, and in Krk Town there is also a tourist clinic. In case of emergency, call 112. The nearest hospital centres are in Rijeka.
Petrol stations and EV charging stations
Petrol stations are located in Baška, Krk Town, Malinska, Omišalj, at the Valbiska ferry port and just after the Krk Bridge. There are eleven electric vehicle charging stations around the island.
Waste collection and recycling
Krk Island separates waste, so near your accommodation you will find coloured containers: green for mixed waste, brown for bio-waste, blue for paper and cardboard packaging, yellow for plastic and metal, and black for glass. Waste is collected door to door according to the waste collection timetable. In old town centres and apartment buildings, containers are shared – usually in front of the building or at the edge of the old town area.
Barbecue
The accommodation description states whether a barbecue is available; in properties with several units, the barbecue is sometimes shared. If you would like to bring your own portable barbecue, please check first whether this is allowed – at some properties it is not permitted due to fire risk.
Vehicle and boat rental
During your stay, you can rent a bicycle, scooter or boat, also for a short period – once you are already on the island. For motor vehicles, the appropriate driving licence category is required, and for operating a boat you need a boat licence. See the options for bicycle, scooter and boat rental.
If you would rather leave the helm to someone who knows every cove, take a look at our boat trips.

Our recommendation
If this is your first time in Vrbnik, take a walk through the old town in the early evening. The stone streets begin to cool down, and the view over the Kvarner Bay feels different than it does in the middle of the day. The alleys are narrow – one of them, Klančić, is said to be one of the narrowest streets in the world – so they are best discovered without hurry. Finish on one of the terraces above the sea, with a glass of Vrbnik žlahtina.
