Description
Pojana is a family house with stone walls in the old part of Vrbnik, set within the close weave of narrow lanes not far from Vrbnik’s old square.
From the street, stairs lead up to the living area, with a sitting room, kitchen with dining table, and bathroom. Another flight of stairs leads to the bedroom with a double bed and access to a terrace of about 7 m²; next to the bedroom there is also a small additional room.
The terrace is sheltered by wild vine and greenery. The street below leads towards the church, so you may hear footsteps of passers-by and the bell from the nearby bell tower. Peace here is the peace of a lived-in place, not of complete seclusion. In summer, especially towards evening, you may see swallows flying above the roofs of the old town.
The small additional room can be used as a work corner, a reading room, a place for stretching, or simply as a quieter part of the house when someone wants a little more privacy. This makes Pojana a good choice for a couple looking for more than a classic summer apartment — a small house in Vrbnik where you can stay a little longer, work part of the time from here, and have more space than in a usual apartment for two.
Pojana does not hide its age; it brings it into the present stay. The space has been renewed with care and respect for a house that was a family home for generations. Wood, beams, stone, Glagolitic reliefs, simple objects and details with a local signature have remained part of the house.
The upper floor rests on wooden beams, so footsteps may be heard. This is part of the character of the house and its traditional structure.
By car, you can come to within about thirty metres of the house, which is practical for unloading and loading luggage. A reserved parking space is about five minutes’ walk from the house.
Today, Pojana is open to guests who love wooden beams, a terrace under greenery, and the feeling of having their own little house in the old centre of Vrbnik.
