Why choose a fishing trip to Beli on the island of Cres?
Overview
We set sail from the port of Krk along the wooded western coast of Krk towards the neighbouring island of Cres. In the north of Cres lies the fairy-tale town of Beli, with an extremely rich history.
It takes about 3 hours of easy driving to reach Beli. During navigation, we trawl for about 45 minutes, i.e. we lower the nets that the boat drags, and then the fish catch is cleaned and sorted.
It is an ideal opportunity to experience traditional trawling and learn about the fish of this area. While trawling, you will be served a small snack - salted and marinated fish.
You will stay in Beli for 2 hours. At that time, you can swim on the beautiful beach in Beli, see the old town of Beli, the Eco Center Beli - a recovery center for vultures, visit the mystical stone labyrinth near Beli or see the old Roman bridge, which is about 2000 m old.
Considering that Beli is located on a rock about 113 m above the sea, a choo-choo-train ride to Beli and back to the harbour is organized for you - a train ride is included in the price.
We leave Beli at 3:00 p.m. and then a lunch of freshly caught fish with salad, potatoes, bread, and local wine is served on board.
On the way back from Beli, there is another half-hour break for swimming at one of the picturesque bays on the west coast of Krk.
We return to Krk around 17:30.
This excursion is a great opportunity to experience the shores of the two largest Adriatic islands - Krk and Cres.
You will also visit the picturesque town of Beli, visit the griffon vultures, and with a bit of luck, you may even see the dolphins that live in this area.
A special attraction of this trip is fishing on an original fishing boat in a pleasantly small group. And the taste of freshly caught fish is unrepeatable.
